Domaine Xavier Monnot
Domaine XAVIER MONNOT, based in Meursault, is a 10th generation family estate .
The major part of 16.5 hectares of vineyards is located in the villages of the Côte de Beaune. With the exception of the wider regional appellations, the emphasis is on the expression of each blocks, as the estate only produces cuvees by "Climats" and "Lieux-Dits" at Village level.
The harvest is manual and a strict selection of grapes is done on sorting in the vineyard and a second time at the winery.
All the grapes are from the estate own vineyards with no external purchases. The vinification of white wines and red wines is done using the technical resources at the forefront of modern oenology, to ensure precise results in the bottle. Maturing wines in barrels in the cellars will last 12 to 16 months depending on the appellation and the characteristic of the vintage.
Xavier Monnot wines are reviewed by most of top Burgundy commentators and his style is usually summed up as : “Classical...and Bloody good!”
